Back to Work

I made it back from USIRs, but it took forever in traffic.  Where I live, we think that if there are 3 people with you at a red light, that’s a traffic jam.  In New Jersey, it’s 5 lanes of bumper-to-bumper with lane closures ahead.  I sat on the turnpike for some time, then on the Garden State Parkway, then on the Merritt Parkway, then on 91.  I finally made it home at 11, having left Baltimore at 2.  Not fun.

On another note, I have been working on the rest of the summer’s orders.  Above you see one of them.  This is 2 1/2 hours of pleating, plus another hour and 20 minutes laying out the kilt, joining  the two pieces, turning up the hem, and sewing it.  The tartan is Dress Raspberry MacKellar.

The dog coats were a bit of a hit at USIR–I am going to work on some more soon.  I just want to post a picture of Fiona checking out the stuffed dog.  Here she is:

Fiona really didn’t know what to make of this dog!  After a few minutes I guess she decided that it couldn’t do anything to her, so she went on her way.  Cats aren’t always too smart.
